Facilities will be more basic than you are accustomed to - please travel with an open mind and a willingness to adapt to local conditions. Accommodation is provided in a dormitory either at our office space 5 min away from our base, or in bungalows with a view over the caves and the mountain at the base.
In both cases, the dormitory offers a private bathroom (shower and toilets), balcony with direct views over the mountain, fans (with AC option), mosquito net, some storage space and a desk.
If you need to stay additional nights before or after your project you need to book these separately, ask your travel consultant for help.

Departure
Krabi International Airport (KBV / VTSG). At the end of your program, GVI will provide transport back to Krabi airport on Saturday; you will be transferred from the research station at 08:00am and you will arrive at the airport around 08:30. We recommend booking a flight after 14:00. Should you wish to leave before the program has ended, you will be responsible for your own transport back to the airport. A private taxi will cost approximately 1600 BHT or a local bus around 350 BHT.
Throughout your stay, we’ll provide transportation to and from our scheduled project activities. To explore further you can rent a bicycle, scooter or book a taxi. Scooter rental is convenient and affordable, and we can help you arrange it upon arrival. If you prefer, we can provide contact details for trusted taxi drivers. Bicycles are also available at no extra cost. Please note that local transport during free time is not included in the program fee.
Breakfast and lunch are provided at the accommodation from Monday to Friday. Most meals are served buffet-style. Breakfast is usually a combination of eggs, toast, fruits and coffee/tea. Lunches are Thai and Western dishes ranging from padthai, curries and fried rice to diverse veggie dishes and locally made snacks. You will need to cover the cost of most of your evening meals but we do have a dinner together every once in a while. You are welcome to make use of the kitchen facilities to prepare your own meals.
There is Wi-Fi available at your accommodation. You can also buy a local sim card at the airport upon arrival or at several stores in the city. We recommend getting aTRUE or AIS network sim card.
