Lisbon is nearby and, before or after your volunteering, there is plenty to see and do. Lisbon is close to the beach and is also a great transiting point for exploring the rest of the country.
Accommodation during the first days in Lisbon will be at a social and sustainable hostel in Lisbon. Impact Beach House is a hostel dedicated to Climate Action, with a special focus on Ocean Conservation and Circularity. The house is beautiful and was specially designed to be the house of volunteers. It is located in Estoril and it's just 5 minutes walking distance from the beach. It is super close to Estoril and S. João do Estoril train stations, and it is approx. 45 mins train ride from the city center of Lisbon. The house is also closer to most projects and some are even within walking distance. The house features 9 rooms, including female and male dorms and private rooms with sea views, with a maximum capacity of 56 people. It also offers common areas for socializing and dining, an outdoor terrace and a garden of over 100m2, and a tower with a 180º sea view where we organize our activities and events. Our guests can also use our dive pool during dive free hours. There is an amazing outdoor terrace and a fully equipped kitchen. Wi-Fi is available everywhere.
Accommodation in Mafra is in very comfortable wooden houses at the center. As the houses on the Wolf Conservation project have limited rooms, volunteers are not able to be separated by gender. Volunteers should expect to be accommodated in mixed gender rooms, max. 4 beds dormitory. These houses have fully-equipped kitchens and comfortable living spaces for volunteer use. There is limited internet access at the Wolf Centre.
